The PDWP Approved Eight Development Schemes of Various Sectors

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved eight development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of PKR. 7336.452 Million.

The schemes were approved in the 16th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2016-17. Secretary P&DD Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting.    

According to Spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included:

  • Establishment of Punjab Bioenergy Institute (PBI) at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (Phase-I) (Revised) at the cost of PKR. 792.218 Million
  • Testing Indigenous Hydroponic Greenhouses for Vegetable Growing at various Locations in Punjab at the cost of PKR. 87.422 Million
  • Promotion of Agriculture Mechanization in Punjab at the cost of PKR. 1166.518 Million
  • Dualization of road from Motorway Interchange Jang Bahatar to Wah, length: 3.11 km, Taxila, Rawalpindi at the cost of PKR. 654.956 Million
  • Widening/improvement of Rawalpindi Chakri Road (Mohra Chapri) to Motorway Interchange (TST Road 24’ wide with 4’ Treated Shoulder) length: 37 km, District Rawalpindi at the cost of PKR. 669.598 Million
  • Rehabilitation/widening and improvement of Shahpur-Bhera-Malikwal Road length: 76.50 km, District Sargodha at the cost of PKR. 2234.231 Million
  • Widening/improvement of road from Khushab to Noushera via Khura (length: 55.00 km), District Khushab (Reach 0.00 to 40.00 km Phase-I) at the cost of PKR. 876.849 Million
  • Rehabilitation/carpeting of Phalia to Sial More Interchange upto Tahli Adda I/C Phalia Bye Pass length: 44 kms, Mandi Bahuddin at the cost of PKR. 854.660 Million
